During the waning years of the Age of Towers, the warlord known as Crowsblod of Isyga united the scattered and warring clans of the Calirunic Plains. He ruled with an iron-fist, to the end that some would call him a tyrant while others saw him as a hero for his actions and desires for an united people. But whatever he was, he had a driving desire to fulfill the vision of a new peaceful land. Using the settlement of Isyga as his capital, Crowsblod begun the long process of maintaining peace and creating a nation. It would not be until his great grandson Cariuss Caliruna, in the year One Hundred and Twenty-Five (125) of the Age of Kingdoms, that the nation of Isygaruna would be founded.
Isygaruna enjoyed a number of idyllic years that for generations later would be looked to as the ideal of the utopia. But Cariuss's son, Xerius Caliruna, had greater desires for his nation and looked to the north to find it. To the north of Isygaruna were the nations of Ltyran and Istraha, two nations long established but isolated with only the other to support them. Trade was established between the three, bringing in rich ores and furs Isygaruna at the cost of lumber and ale. In efforts to further cement the developing good relations, Xerius had his daughter Saphir wed the ruler of Ltyran, Jonnan Crus. This only invoked hostile responses from Istraha, whose ruler's daughter had already been promised and betrothed to Jonnan. The results of the failed diplomacy became known as the Fools War, which ended with the destruction of Istraha's royal house of Wettilin and its annexation by Ltyran. Ltyran became Isygaruna's primary trading partner and military ally until their eventual merging as result of the marriage of Crowned Prince Tolimor Caliruna of Isygaruna and Princess Jeldora Crus of Ltyran – the resulting kingdom was known as Isyran around the year Three Hundred and Seven (307) of the Age of Kingdoms.
The Eldar Wars began in the year Three Hundred and Ten (310) of the Age of Kingdoms. It was the result of the massacre of twenty elves after an attempted forced removal of Elven peoples from Isyga under the orders of Queen Jeldora. It went against a decree agreed upon by the High Councilor Teldar Yan'xilus and King Cariuss Caliruna that permitted the Elves to settle there and live in peace. Diplomacy on both sides failed and open war erupted for well over a hundred years, it ended in Four Hundred and Twenty-Eight (428) of the Age of Kingdoms. The ruins of several Elven cities in the north still sit as reminder of this war while both sides remember the heavy death toll. Political tensions between Humans and Elves would remain for a long period of time following, trade would improve to a level of operation but Humans of Isygaruna were not allowed in Elven-held lands and Elves were not allowed in Isyran.
Dercaliruna, the Duchy of Caliruna, begun to become a center of art, trade and learning from far and wide, attracting even the great philosopher Esora of the southern kingdom of Insteil to debate. The city of Calriuna was ruled by the House Ravenmantle, a house whose roots can be traced back to the clan of the same name during the Calirunic Clans era – who were well beloved by the people of Isyran. Though even in the Gem of the Eastern Kingdom, the people were spoke often openly about their resentment against the House Caliruna for becoming too bloated with power and riches to realize how much corruption had slipped into their court and was leading Isyran to an eventual ruin. As result and after much careful consideration to try to find a more peaceful solution Duke Gragun Ravenmantle begun to raise an army in secret . His attempts spanned over the years of Four Hundred and Sixty-Three to Four Hundred and Sixty-Nine (463-469) of the Age of Kingdoms and resulting in what many considered to be easily half of the kingdom's military might.
In the following year (470 AoK), Duke Ravenmantle marched from Caliruna, crushing all resistance, until he came upon the capital of Isyga. Despite attempts to end the coup peacefully, Duke Ravenmantle was forced to use his army's might to completely lay ruin to Isygaruna and to assassinate the royal family of Caliruna. Duke Ravenmantle did not survive the battle, having been slain by one of the royal retainers, nearly crippling the final push but victory was to be had by the revolutionaries. Following the battle his daughter, who would become the first ruler and queen of the new kingdom, Lady Ariel Ravenmantle assumed the position her father would have had, ruler of the new kingdom. The new kingdom was named Renastere, a word meaning “rebirth”, and its capital was made Caliruna.
Following the death of Queen Ariel in Five Hundred and Twenty-Seven (527) of the Age of Kingdoms, her son Geralt became the first king of Renastere as his father was the consort of Queen Ariel. Geralt renewed the alliance with the kingdom of Insteil and opened the borders of the kingdom to immigrants seeking a new home. As result of the great immigration, a surge of Half-Elves would emerge in the years to follow as many Ygard Hyleldar and Aeoreldar ventured into Renastere for the first time peacefully in generations. His rule was noted with times of great economical recovery and a time of peace with other nations, though it was during this time fell-beasts began to arise in great hordes. Knowing the dangers of these beasts and taking heed the warnings of the Serelohim to prepare for the coming of the great shadows in his descendants times, Geralt expended much effort into the studies and search for the power that would be needed to keep these beasts at bay and to prevent the coming of the shadows. It was in his twenty-second year of rule that it was discovered – the Lyblæcawicchis Trials whose survivors would later be known as the Volven. These Volven, the first of which numbered only five, lead a legion each to remove the fell-beasts whilst the southern kingdom of Insteil, who it is noted was spared of these creatures' wrath, watched. Successful in their duty King Geralt decreed that the Volven were entitled to the lands known as Pyke, a small barony located to the northeast of the current day capital of Speranta, and the best of their ranks would serve as an adviser to the King.
Due to the great suspicions that Insteil was somehow responsible for the fell-beasts, diplomatic relations soured and traded halted around the year Five Hundred and Sixty-One (561) of the Age of Kingdoms. The son of Geralt, Gragunne, ruled for only twenty years in which relations with Insteil ended completely with his assassination by a Insteilian. Gragunne's daughter, Sybil, became Queen and inherited the horrible situation of the pending war with the kingdom of Insteil. Furious with Insteil's actions and wanting vengeance for the wrongful murder of her father, Sybil begun what would later be known as the Two Hundred Year War in the year Five Hundred and Eighty-Two (582) of the Age of Kingdoms. Sybil would wed her Volven advisor, Edvar Wytecrest, and the two would have six sons and three daughters – the largest of the Ravenmantle generations. Of the heirs only four would survive to have children of their own – the Crowned Prince William, Prince Alistair who would become the Duke of Ltyran, Princess Lashira who would become the Duchess of Isyga (long rebuilt), and Princess Brittany who would become the Duchess of Hamskin.
After a good many years into that of the great war, the year Six Hundred and Forty-Six (646) of the Age of Kingdoms, the kingdom of Insteil had underwent a coup d'etat in which the monarchy was dissolved and a military-based oligarchy was installed. The great sages of Insteil fled in amnesty to the Kingdom of Renastere in fear of being executed as examples of the new government's might. Welcomed into the kingdom by King Valteel Ravenmantle, many of these sages proved to be of great assistance to the war effort. Several of the sages were of amazing magical talent and skill, showing how the notably smaller kingdom of Insteil had survived the growing might of Renastere. Eventually as time passed and the war effort still requiring power, Valteel took a single sage who best represented each of the schools of magic and took them as advisors alongside the Volven Frik Vunglade. Though he required one to keep them in check, as often opposing schools of thought can enter conflict with one another, he chose the best of the generalists to serve as their “leader”. In the end they were to become known as the Primus, both individually and collectively. The Primus would help lead to the war's conclusion in the time of Valteel's great grand-son Galdre in the year Seven Hundred and Seventy-Six (776) of the Age of Kingdoms. The nation of Insteil was absorbed into the Kingdom of Renastere save for the citystate, former capital of the Kingdom of Insteil, Wycche as request of both the Primus and the Serelohim. Wycche is an important religious center for the Ilîhum faith for it is a holy site and burial place of the first Serelohims of Eirene.
Throughout the late Seven Hundreds and early Eight Hundreds of the Age of Kingdoms, the Kingdom of Renastere managed to enjoy a period of peace though as evident by its bloody history, war was nearing. In the year Eight Hundred and Thirty (830) of the Age of Kingdoms the already crumbling Empire of Rubicar engaged the Kingdom of Renastere over border disputes near present day Valisgrove. The Empire of Rubicar once controlled the entire western half of Eirene and beyond, it was once the greatest nation on the continent until corruption among its various nobles spread into a series of nearly continuous civil wars as the empire torn itself apart. The Empire was always pushing its borders and taking what it deemed was its own, resulting in numerous wars – by the time of war with the Kingdom of Renastere it was unable to support any of them as their troops were being depleted or focused on handling the various armies of the rebelling nobles. King Grema renewed the people's love in the Ravenmantles as he personally was known to lead his troops into battle, even against the legendary Dreadnaughts of the Empire. It was King Grema who was said to had planted the standard of Renastere in the chest of General Jovi Numerius at the Battle of the Iron-Woods, in present day Vaikne. In the following months most of the Rubicarns pulled out of the region leaving it open for King Grema to claim for Renastere. For the first time, the Kingdom of Renastere stretched the length of Eirene from east to west and from the Sea of Sunthaz to the Winter Tear Mountains in the south and north. By the end of Grema's rule the capital had moved to the current location of Speranta.
Peace finally reigned once more in the Kingdom of Renastere over the next four hundred and fifty years until it was brought to an end by the machinations of Brant Lilorosa, the Duke of Ltyran, in Two Hundred and Eighty (280) of the Age of Shadows. Brant was well beloved by the people of Ltyran and he used their trust and coins to raise, house, and feed an army. The army's purpose was said to be the protection of the Duchy of Ltyran from the gathering barbaric Orcs that dwelt in the nearby Winter Tears, though its true purpose was to breach the defenses of Speranta and assassinate the royal family. On the eve of new year of Two Hundred and Eighty (280)of the Age of Shadows the army left Ltyran and marched toward Speranta and with the use of mages kept hidden from sight until it came into view of Speranta or so they thought. The Half-Elven scout known simply as Fox felt the presence of magic while on patrol of his father's lands and investigated to discover the legions lead by Brant. He quickly sent word to the regional guard-station to only realize these men were marching toward the capital. Fox quickly rode to Speranta to warn the city of the army's coming. As the sun rose that next day, the Primus were seen upon the battlements along with a half of legion of archers whose arrows glowed brightly with flames. After an exchange of words, Brant's forces charged the city's walls and the battle begun. Throughout the day and into the night to the next morrow the battle raged upon Brant fell and his surviving host scattered. The traitors were hunted and executed as commanded by the Crown Prince Erican who would be crowned the new king days following the battle. His father, Davs, fell in battle against Brant who fell in turn by the Vestlig Ulfr Lichtbjorn who joined the battle to protect the city he was visiting. During the reign of Erican he would constitute the alterations to the structure of the nobility class to what is commonly known as the King-Count-Baron decree. As per his decree the current Duchies of Dercaliruna, Ltyran, Hamskin, and Isyga would become Counties along with the likes of Pyke which was promoted from a barony, Rhandil, Marston, and Vatar. Their rulers would be known as Counts and would have control over the various Baronies within their regions but all must bend knee to the King. There is an exception, the Archduke who rules from the only remaining Duchy that is known as Thanasio and it sits directly south of Speranta. The Archduke typically is of the family Aerkainus, a close branch of the House Dercaliruna in relation to the Ravenmantles. The Archduke is the king's second and handles many of the lesser cases if desired by the King, Counts and those under must bear in mind and obey the Archduke's orders, decrees, and wishes unless the King's is counter to it.
Until Five Hundred and Forty-Six (546) of the Age of Shadows the Kingdom enjoyed a time of peaceful growth and population explosion. In the County of Hamskin a large fire began to ravage the western mountains claiming a number of lives due to its intensity and size. The flames continued to the eastern portion when it came across a small valley that was home to a large number of Dusk Rhoysn. As the flowers burnt the dangerous plague that is born from its ash hit a number of the villages that did not flee the fire. It is thought over two thousand died over the course of a single fortnight as result. Thankfully the plague did not make it beyond the mountains and the flames that eventually died out naturally enabled the region to become one of the best vineyard lands in all of Eirene. The Crowned Princess Sedrilla, who would later become queen in Five Hundred and Fifty-Three (553) of the Age of Shadows, established a day of remembrance for those lost to the fire and it has become known as Rhosyn Eve of Sedrilla.
In Six Hundred and Sixty-Five (665) through Six-Hundred and Sixty-Seven (667) but with particular notable increase during Six-Hundred and Sixty-Six (666) of the Age of Shadows, numerous fell-beasts once more emerged throughout the Kingdom of Renastere. They were not alone this time as numerous Torccans, faithfuls of Myrtorc, who had made powerful and fearful pacts lead them into battle against the citizens of the Kingdom. The Volven, Serelohim, Vestlig, and numerous other groups rose up to protect the Kingdom, and many good acts were done in this time of Shadows but the losses were high. Three Kings (Paul (father), Joshua (first heir), Tylian (second heir)) fell during this time until the Hero-King Iatros Ravenmantle, the third heir of Paul, lead a successful campaign in wiping out the Torccans and restoring peace to the Kingdom. Following this brief war Iatros established what would be later known as the Greycloak as a subdivision of the Serelohim, who were responsible to lead and assist the Volven and Serelohim and any others who would assist in laying down any more fell-beast uprisings. Iatros was said to be blessed by Ilîhum himself and would live to rule peacefully until Eight Hundred and Ninety-Four (894) of the Age of Shadows.
Over the year Nine Hundred and Twenty-Six (926) of the Age of Shadows the Orcish Warlord Fangor, Leogan the Liar as he was known to by the Kingdom, lead a great horde from the Winter Tears into the Kingdom. Many locations were attacked nearly at once including the barony of Vaikne in the county of Rhandil. It would had fell if not for the actions of the Dwarven warrior Alzera Crownhammer who single-handedly fought off what was said to be at least two hundred orcs to buy the village time to setup defenses. The orcs had few victories but none were as great as claiming the iron mines of Marston and raiding the grannies of Valisgrove. King Donarz's forces pushed the majority of the surviving orcs back into the Winter Tears though a small section of the horde lead personally by Fangor managed to reach the outskirts of Thanasio where they begun to lay siege. Pressed for time, Fangor would use his own warriors as expendable explosives, using stolen materials, to breach the walls of the city. It is here that he earned his second name of Leogan the Liar, as it is said he promised those that died great happiness in their next life. As he begun to breach the wall, several of the Primus arrived with two of the king's legions. The battle was intense as only the strongest of Fangor's Orcs had survived and despite the military advantage the Renasterens had the Orcs proved resilient and determined. Though their war ended when Fangor himself was defeated in combat by Primus Albert Zealcrest but fled before being destroyed by the powerful arcansist outside of the city walls of Thanasio. The remaining orcs were slain or captured.
In Nine Hundred and Seventy-Three (973) of the Age of Shadows the current king Bristhain Ravenmantle was born to King Odrin and Queen Sirea. He was taught well by his tutors and mother, his father taught him how to be a king and how to fight. The young prince had many adventures and was popular among the citizens of Speranta and beyond. Though in Nine Hundred and Eighty-Nine (989) of the Age of Shadows upon his father's assassination he became King of Renastere. It is believed if Bristhain was there he too would had been slain by the assassin, his father was no weakling and he fell to his assilant. With the assassin's escape, there are no hints to who was behind it or why it was even ordered, though there is rumor it was to potentially remove the Ravenmantles from power. His rule has so far been generally peaceful save for the Great Fire of Calirun in the year Nine Hundred and Ninty-Nine (999) which claimed nearly half the city and the most recent issues in the County of Rhandil with the Necromancer de'Lucied.
